Scope and Contents

Transcription: [double-headed eagle] EASTER EGG CHARM Easter Egg pendant of gold decorated with vertical sections of transparent ruby enamel, separated by fillets of transparent pearl enamel. Each section has a dainty leaf design, giving the decoration a Persian feeling. It is hallmarked with the number “56” denoting the Russian equivalent of 14 kt. gold and, indistinctly, with the initials of the master. Designed by Carl Faberge, illustrious Russian court jeweler, the little charm is characteristic of those which he made expressly for the young Grand Duchesses, daughters of Tsar Nikolai II.
