Transcription: [double-headed eagle] The Schaffer Collection of Russian Imperial Art Treasures Rockefeller Center, New York Christmas, 1934 #597 A most unusual gold pin in the shape of a tree trunk, showing a snake coiled around the tree, hypnotizing a bird which is perched directly above. It is chased in very fine detail of vari-colored gold which is typical of Fabergé. Originally in the personal belongings of Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Nicholas II, the late Czar of Russia.
