Transcription: [double-headed eagle] The Schaffer Collection of Russian Imperial Art Treasures ROCKEFELLER CENTER, NEW YORK December 1, 1936 #1350 Paper knife of richly grained tortoise shell, of unusual personal interest. It is mounted with a solid gold facsimile reproduction of the inscription “For Dear Alix” (the Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna) “from Misha” (the Grand Duke Michael, brother of Nicholas II, the late Czar of Russia.) From the Alexander Palace at Tsarskoye Selo.
